Mercedes has got the go-ahead by Elmbridge Borough Council for the construction of its centre at Brooklands, Weybridge.

The 150-acre site will be a technological showcase for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and will commemorate the history of the marque and its association with Brooklands. Also included will be 60 acres of community space, country park and riverside nature walks. A flood defence scheme will help protect the Brooklands Museum and local homes.

A survey by Comma has revealed that the Welsh shampoo, hoover and polish their cars more often than anyone else. On average, owners fill the bucket and wring out the chamois 6.1 times a year - more than residents within Greater London (3) and Scotland (2.9) collectively spend cleaning their cars.
