Z Car Is Your Vote As Number One

What a year it's been for the Nissan 350Z. The car sold out its UK allocation in record time, and now the sleek coupé has picked up its trophy after being voted Car of the Year by Auto Express readers.

The accolade meant the 350Z was entered into the prestigious European Auto 1 competition for new cars. Paul Willcox, marketing director at Nissan UK, collected the trophy. He said: "Since the launch of the 350Z the response has been phenomenal, and the car has consistently received positive reviews. To accept this award means a great deal to Nissan, as it reflects the opinions of Auto Express readers."

The 350Z proved a hit with the judges selected to decide the overall European Auto 1 champion, too. The Japanese machine was voted the top drivers' car in the seven-strong field, and also scored highly with the technical engineers thanks to its build quality. The Auto 1 winner was the BMW 5-Series, which also received an innovation award for its active steering system.
