Scanner Has It Bagged

01st April 2004

Carrier bags full of motor show brochures could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to technology borrowed from supermarket checkouts!

Visitors to the Commercial Vehicle Show at the Birmingham NEC last week used a system which allowed exhibitors to zap a special pen across a barcode on their name badges, and then have the literature sent by post. Show-goers only had to fill out their details once at the entrance, instead of at every stand.
