It's All Change For Suzuki

In what must count as one of its boldest moves ever, Suzuki has made changes to every model in its line-up.

01st April 2004

The biggest makeover is to the Liana, which has had its looks freshened up. Exterior changes include a new two-bar grille with updated 'S' logo, body-coloured side trim and bumper corner mouldings. Heated electric mirrors have also been added. Inside, the model gets an updated facia with metallic silver accents on the centre console, air vent surrounds and window switches on the doors. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls, plus a new digital clock and outside temperature gauge built into the dash top, complete the look. The entry-level Liana GL starts at ΂£8,995, while the GLX model costs ΂£9,995.

Other improvements in the firm's range include air-con as standard on the Grand Vitara 1.6 three-door SE estate, while the 2.0-litre diesel version is now five per cent cheaper at ΂£13,995. Also, all five-doors get electric door mirrors. The 1.1-litre Alto's price has been reduced to only ΂£5,495 and now has rear headrests, new seats and interior trim. In addition, the Jimny Soft Top has been given two-tone cloth trim and a leather steering wheel and gearknob. Finally, all Suzukis now boast standard-fit CD players, driver and passenger airbags, plus ABS and EBD.
