Driving Made Easy By Robocar

02nd April 2004

It will be easier for drivers to keep their eye on the road when new technology by DaimlerChrysler and Volvo becomes standard.

The firms are working on the Communicar system, which detects when the driver must undertake several tasks at once - such as in an emergency situation - and automatically switches off panels that could catch the eye on the dash. This leaves the driver free to concentrate. The device, on sale in 2006, also turns down the radio at the same time.
