MG Rover has admitted the flagship 75 will be built in Poland if its bid to buy the old Daewoo factory there is successful. However, production of the model will also continue at Longbridge.

Boss John Towers told MPs there was "a huge market" in Poland for the 75 and that building there would mean it would be "affordable". Towers denied this would cause job losses at the UK plant. He also said MG Rover will share two new platforms with Proton to replace the 25 and 45. The latter could be based on the recent Proton Gen.2 concept.
