Girl Power Calls Tune On The SLK

Having the right image is critical in the convertible market, and nobody likes a 'girls' car' - not even members of the fairer sex.

One stereotyped model is Mercedes' current SLK, so designers were told to make the new car more masculine. But attitudes changed when it became clear the switchgear could not be operated with long nails. The knobs were redesigned to be acceptable to the feminine touch.
