E-Class And SL Owners Face Recall Misery

While engineers are testing the new M-Class, they've got some serious work to do on the E-Class and SL, too. The problem with both is on the Sensotronic Brake Control system, and Mercedes has launched a worldwide recall. The firm has been made aware of a small number of faults, but says there's no risk of brake failure. All SLs built since October 2001 are affected, as are E-Class saloons produced after March 2002 and estates made since March 2003. Owners will be contacted.
