Ministers vote next month on whether to put clocks forward an extra hour in the summer to make driving safer. MP Nigel Beard claims additional daylight could prevent up to 2,000 deaths and injuries. If the bill is approved, England and Wales would join the mainland European timezone. Scotland and Northern Ireland would not be affected.
