New Fines Pedalled

28th June 2004

Local authorities are getting even more powers to fine motorists. Anyone seen in a cycle lane or blocking a pedestrian or cycle crossing could face a penalty of up to ΂£100. Cameras and traffic wardens will be used to catch offenders. The Government hopes the pro-bike move will encourage more drivers out of their cars and on to two wheels.
