Urban 4x4 Crackdown

Paris could soon be off limits to 4x4 owners. Officials there have drawn up plans that would ban SUVs when air pollution is high. But the move doesn't go far enough for some. The city's deputy mayor for transportation, Denis Baupin, wants mud-pluggers off the streets permanently. If Paris officials are successful, similar bans could follow in other cities - including London, where mayor Ken Livingstone recently referred to urban drivers as "idiots".
