British sports car maker Invicta is building a one-off supercharged version of its S1 coupé. Called the S1-600, the newcomer uses a 5.0-litre Ford V8, delivering 600bhp - that's nearly twice as much power as the standard car's 320bhp, 4.6-litre.

The six-speed grand tourer will be used by Britain's fastest blind driver - bank manager Mike Newman - in his attempt to set a new record speed of 200mph. The bid takes place on 14 October, which is World Sight Day.
