Focus Will Be An Automatic Hit

It was an 'automatic' decision for this week's magazine to run a picture of the interior of Ford's all-new Focus. Although we originally revealed how the cabin will look in issue 816, this is the first time anyone has seen the auto version.

The mag's exclusive spy shot of a left-hand-drive car also shows how the cockpit will get the Durashift CVT gearbox, already seen in the Focus C-MAX. Combined with the 1.6-litre diesel, the unit offers a fully automatic mode, as well as a sequential manual. It's expected to become the car's only auto option, although it should be available with a 2.0-litre petrol, too.

This picture also shows the centre console and how the door trims will match those on the C-MAX. Readers will already be familiar with the Focus, as we've published a host of details, including a world-first image in issue 806. The car debuts at next month's Paris Motor Show and goes on sale in January.
