Special Freedom 3s

02nd September 2004

Ten limited-edition 3-Series models are to be auctioned by BMW to mark the 10th anniversary of South Africa's first democratic elections. Called the Democracy Cars, they've been signed by ex-president Nelson Mandela, with a plaque to authenticate it. All proceeds will go to his Children's Fund, which helps underprivileged kids across the country. The cars have been built by BMW South Africa, with many suppliers donating components for free.
