Six Of The Best From Nissan

Why unveil one new car when you can do six? That was Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn's message as the firm staged Japan's biggest-ever product launch, unwrapping half a dozen showroom-ready models at the same time.

All are destined to hit the road over the next six months - and several are being tipped for Britain. It's the Note, which as our official picture shows, bears more than a passing resemblance to the Modus from parent company Renault. It's based on a stretched Micra platform, and could arrive here late next year.

Also unveiled was the luxurious Fuga V6. The 3.5-litre petrol-engined executive challenger is set to spearhead the UK introduction of Nissan's upmarket Infiniti brand in 2008.

The third model to interest British buyers is the Japanese edition of the Murano SUV, which goes on sale in the firm's home market later this month. Powered by the same 3.5-litre engine as the model already on sale in the US, the Murano will hit the UK early next year to rival the likes of Lexus' RX300.
