Cherokee Muscles In

Thanks to a new turbocharger, this latest powerplant delivers 11 per cent better performance, too, producing a hefty 400Nm of torque.

To be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show later this month, the revamped off-roader has a revised grille, reshaped bumpers and new side mouldings. Inside, quality and comfort have been improved with the introduction of fresh trim - and seats which fold even flatter to improve practicality. The car goes on sale at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, from December, Chrysler's Voyager MPV will have the firm's clever Stow 'n' Go seating and storage system as standard. The design, launched at January's Detroit Motor Show, enables the second and third row chairs to be hidden in the floor, increasing luggage space from 340 to 4,550 litres.
