Cities In Traffic Chaos 'Contest'

Traffic light controllers in two cities are deliberately causing gridlock to boost the appeal of public transport, it has been claimed.

Scottish MP Nicola Sturgeon raised the alarm after an insider at Glasgow's road management centre revealed staff there and in Edinburgh held competitions to cause the most rush-hour chaos. The Scottish Executive has promised a full investigation.
