Schu's Fiat Stilos The Show

It's red, looks sporty and has Michael Schumacher's name on it - but this isn't the German's Formula One car for next season. It's a new Fiat Stilo, finished in special Racing Red paint.

The Italian firm, parent company of Ferrari, has produced the model to celebrate the race ace's seventh F1 world title. It's one of a trio of Fiats debuting at this week's Paris Motor Show.

The car is called the Stilo M Schumacher, and only 3,500 will be made. Offered as a three-door only, it boasts an aggressive Zender bodykit, 17-inch alloys and a special logo on the boot.

Sporty touches continue in the cabin, while ESP stability control, dual-zone air-con and a CD player with steering wheel-mounted controls are standard. Two engines are available: a 170bhp 2.4-litre 20v petrol unit and a 140bhp 1.9 Multijet 16-valve diesel.
The second newcomer also has a fast theme - the Stilo Racing is aimed at younger buyers and is a three-door as well.

There's a choice of petrol and diesel powerplants, all mated to a six-speed gearbox. Extras include 17-inch alloys, a rear spoiler, side skirts, sports pedals and metallic paint, plus a Racing logo on the C-pillar. A Fiat spokesman said: "The Schumacher will go on sale in the UK early next year, but the Racing won't."

The company is also unveiling the Uproad at Paris. It's based on the Stilo Station Wagon, and is available in Europe from next year with a choice of two diesel engines. There are no plans for this model to go on sale in Britain.
