Future's Looking Bright For Ultimate Mégane

Here's a fruity new car from Renault! Unmissable in its banana-yellow paint, the Mégane Trophy is on the grid at the Paris Motor Show this week. The outrageously bodykitted model, based on the Mégane Renaultsport 225, sits 10cm lower than its standard sibling.

22nd September 2004

The beefed-up hatch uses the Espace's 3.5-litre V6 engine. However, it has been modified to offer 320bhp - an increase from 245bhp in the MPV - and is mated to a semi-auto gearbox. A tubular chassis and performance brakes complete the changes.
Around 30 of the cars will compete in their own race series next year. European circuits, including Le Mans and Donington, are on the list of venues.
