It sounds like something from Dr Who, but the vortex generator is going to make its world debut on the Mitsubishi Evo IX. Tiny ridges above the back window guide airflow over the top of the car towards the rear spoiler, increasing downforce and generating even more grip. It will be an option on all but the FQ range-topper.

Externally, the Evo IX gets minor bodywork changes over the XIII. At the front, a redesigned bumper and spoiler improve aerodynamics, while increasing the air going under the bonnet and to the brakes. At the rear, there are smaller light clusters. British sales are expected to start in May next year.
