UK's Eco Warriors

Going green has just got easier, thanks to a new chart of eco-friendly cars. More than 1,300 models have been analysed, using CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and engine noise for comparison.

13th December 2004

Top of the class was the Honda Civic 1.4 IMA, while Toyota's Prius took second and the Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 diesel third. However, at the bottom of the table were plenty of supercars and luxury saloons - plus the Luton firm's Frontera 4x4, which was the tenth worst car! Carried out by the Environmental Transport Association, the survey's best and worst performers are listed at the www.eta.co.uk website.
