British Show In Axe Threat

British Motor Show bosses have admitted for the first time that the 2006 event might not happen at all.

They've warned that without complete agreement about the venue and format, it could be axed. A spokesman told us if the industry felt none of the three venues bidding for the show - Birmingham NEC, plus London's Earls Court and ExCeL - would raise attendance and lower costs, the expo may not go ahead.

"No one wants that, but it is a possibility," he revealed. A crunch meeting in January will decide the show's future.
