MINI Boom As Dealers Expand

MINI showrooms are about to get bigger. The brand is increasing the size of its dealerships so customers can see a wider range of models in the metal.

There are currently 152 UK sites, but only 40 operate as stand-alone sellers. The rest are part of BMW agents, and often have only a few cars on show. More independent outlets are planned, with space for display areas dedicated to John Cooper Works accessories. The move is also designed to deal with the increased availability of used MINIs.

As part of this growth, MINI's Park Lane site in central London has undergone a ΂£1.75million expansion. A new dealership in Southend, Essex - with space for up to 50 used cars - has just opened, too.
