Motorway Signs Are Saving Lives

The overhead signs on motorways warning 'Queue Ahead' may be depressingly familiar, but they're making roads safer.

Experts at the Transport Research Laboratory in Berkshire have calculated the signs prevented 419 injury accidents and 3,000 minor crashes in 2004. Only 500 miles of motorway have the signs, but more are planned.
