It will feature a folding hard-top instead of the concept's soft-top, and the full four-seater layout will make way for a 2+2 configuration. Production starts at Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina's Turin factory in 2006.
Meanwhile, an expanded range of the new Lancer family car hits UK showrooms in February. A 1.6-litre 96bhp petrol unit is the main engine and prices start at £9,999 for the saloon. The flagship Lancer Sport estate will be the only model with a 133bhp 2.0-litre powerplant and lowered suspension. It costs £11,999.
