Super Prius Is A Fast Charger

Racers at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, got an electric shock from this Toyota Prius, as it became the first petrol-electric hybrid to compete at National Speed Week.

Low suspension, a full roll cage and big tyres marked the car out from standard, but there were only minor changes to the transmission. Its 130mph run is believed to be the fastest-ever for a hybrid.
