It comes with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine made of lightweight magnesium alloy, and will be priced from £28,450 - up £200. Another six-cylinder derivative - the 2.5-litre 325i - will join the line-up in late April, priced from £25,150.
The biggest rises are on ES-spec models, as the cost of this trim on outgoing cars had been cut in prep- aration for the replacement. The 320i ES is £21,560, while its predecessor was £19,995. All new 3-Series models feature a trip computer, front centre armrest, electric rear windows and a CD player as standard.
