Skye Bridge Toll Axed
05th January 2005
The Scottish Executive has abolished the controversial tolls on the Skye Bridge. The charge, which stood at £11.40 for a return car journey, had been in place since the bridge opened in October 1995, and was bitterly opposed by some people. The change is because the Executive has bought the bridge from its private owner.
