Tat's The Way To Show Love For The 'Stang

Mustang mania is gripping America, and customers will do anything to show their love for the new Ford.

05th January 2005

Just look at Rachel Emmons from Montana: she had the US icon's galloping stallion logo tattooed on her leg before her new model even arrived! It was a brave decision, as the 35-year-old ordered the Mineral Gray motor without even seeing it.

Meanwhile, an impatient buyer was nearly arrested after being spied prowling around his local Texas dealership at night. Mike Waitkus, manager at the Fort Worth garage, said the man was trying to glimpse the car he'd bought. "Police say he was observed here a little after 1am eyeing his Mustang," he added.

With demand outstripping supply in the wake of positive press reports, eager owners are doing anything to reduce the delivery time. Some have travelled hundreds of miles to find dealers with shorter waiting lists.

Others are leaving protective wrapping in place to preserve their ,000 (΂£10,180) purchase's condition. Previous-generation Mustangs in mint condition have been known to quadruple in value over time.
