Mazda Fire Plant Is Back On Track

Production has restarted at Mazda's RX-8 factory in Japan after a serious fire in December.

We reported the blaze - which caused ΂£1million-plus of damage - in issue 838. A Mazda spokesman expected only "slight disruption" to UK supply, even though the Hiroshima plant was operating below capacity and concentrating on other models. It will be 35,000 vehicles off schedule by the end of March.
