Road signs, white lines and even traffic lights are to be scrapped from a busy road in a bid to cut accidents. It's based on the theory that car drivers and pedestrians are equal, and will force everyone to be more careful.

In issue 817, we visited Drachten in Holland to see how the same system has worked there. Road planners will be following our lead for the project in busy Exhibition Road, in Kensington, London, which is home to the Science, Natural History and V&A museums.
