MINI On A Rollercoaster Ride

These MINIs really do corner as if they're on rails! The cars are part of the Italian Job Stunt Track, which will debut at theme parks this spring.

12th January 2005

The ride replicates the finale of 2003's The Italian Job movie, where three Cooper S models chase around Los Angeles. It combines Hollywood-style special effects with a traditional rollercoaster, and visitors will race through tunnels and down stairs.

However, whereas the film used 32 real cars, the ride features replicas which are 30 per cent smaller than the real thing. Two rides are being built at Paramount's Kings Island theme parks in Cincinnati in the US and Toronto in Canada.
