Chevy's 'Cruiser' For UK?

Do you fancy seeing this car on UK roads? It could happen, if GM's vice-president of product development, Bob Lutz, gets his way. It's the new Chevrolet HHR. Speaking exclusively to Lutz at the Detroit Motor Show, we asked which Chevys he could see proving a hit in Britain. As of this month, the brand is officially available, selling rebadged Daewoos. "The UK will mainly be taking the Korean-built Chevys, such as the Kalos and Lacetti, but I can't see why the HHR wouldn't work," said Lutz.

The compact MPV is a Chrysler PT Cruiser rival, and was unveiled at the LA Motor Show earlier this month. The GM man added: "It looks different, and I think it would go down well."

Lutz added that he expected the Daewoo/Chevrolet swap wouldn't go 100 per cent smoothly. "For a while there will be confusion as people get used to what's happening," he said.
