Merc's Quality Pledge

There's nothing like putting your money where your mouth is. Mercedes member of the board of management, Eckhard Cordes, said he was working hard to turn around the company's widely reported issues with build quality. "I will hold myself personally responsible for this," he declared. He should know a thing or two about getting it right at the factory - in 1983 he was head of product control for the commercial vehicles section.
