Fire Quenched Early?

What are the chances of the Chrysler Firepower - as revealed in issue 840 - going into production? The omens don't look good. Last year's Detroit showstopper was the ME-412 supercar, which was officially declared dead in the water at this year's event. And in 2003? That was the V10-powered Tomahawk motorcycle, which was rumoured to have a limited production run. It's never seen the light of day either.
