'Stangs Made Of Right Stuff

The new Ford Mustang isn't officially coming to Britain, and is only being built in left-hand drive - but a Manchester firm has the answer.

18th January 2005

American Pick-up Trucks is al-ready taking orders for its right-hand drive conversion, and expects to deliver the first cars in May. The range-topping V8 GT will cost around ΂£33,000, while the entry-level V6 will be below ΂£30,000.

Director Matthew Griffiths told us: "We anticipate doing 100 a year. The Mustang is really different, which is what our customers want. Buyers can choose their spec and colour." Meanwhile, Ford showed five modified Mustangs at the Detroit Motor Show, including the Boy-Racer and Screamin' Yellow Q (pictured). They were the work of US tuning firms, and featured bodykits and extra power.
