Shelby Polishes Off V10 Supercar

There was lots of basking in reflected glory on Ford's stand at the Detroit expo - the revamped version of the Shelby GR-1 had been finished in polished aluminium.

The stunning 605bhp two-seater was first shown last year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance - a California motor show - and has been developed with race legend Carroll Shelby.

It uses a modified Ford GT chassis to house its 6.4-litre front-mounted V10 engine. The 200mph car has been tipped as a suc-cessor to the GT.
