Rise In Roadwork Fines

Tougher moves are being made to hit firms which cause traffic chaos with late-running roadworks. The Government wants to raise fines issued to utility companies and local authorities for delays from ΂£2,000 to ΂£5,000 per day. There could also be a ban on digging up roads less than five years old.
