With its folding metal roof, the drop-top will aim to steal sales from Peugeot's popular 206 CC and Vauxhall's Tigra. As with its French rival, the Mitsubishi will have four seats - but the short wheelbase means there will only be room for small children in the rear. The Coup©-Cabriolet will share its engine line-up with the standard Colt hatchback, which means a flagship variant is expected with the 147bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged powerplant found in the CZT hot hatch.
Prices have yet to be confirmed by Mitsubishi, but entry-level models are likely to cost from £14,750, while range-topping cars are tipped to be priced around £16,750.
