Boom Time For £500k Maserati

How much would you pay for a motoring one-off? This is Maserati's Boomerang, a 1971 concept that's widely regarded as one of the most influential prototypes ever. It's just gone under the hammer at Christie's in Paris - for £538,000.

The Boomerang (image) is a working supercar built around the Bora's 310bhp 4.7-litre V8. It was last sold in 2002, for ΂£440,000.
