Pedestrians 'Out Of Line'

People are taking a "short cut to death" by not using pedestrian crossings properly, the AA Motoring Trust has warned.

02nd March 2005

"People trying to nip across ahead of the black and white lines don't benefit from the crossing's protection," a spokesman claimed. "Using it cuts the chances of being knocked down by 50 per cent."

He said walkers not crossing properly - as seen above - are less likely to be paying attention, while drivers focus on those using the crossing correctly.
