Latest Tyre Laws Have Dig Impact

Increased tyre dumping is being predicted as the deadline for new EU regulations looms closer.

The rules make burying shredded rubber in landfill sites illegal from next year. Disposing of whole tyres in this way was outlawed back in 2003. Bedfordshire recycler F and R Cawley expects the worst. Boss Jon Cawley said: "Since the first ban, there's been a big rise in fly-tipping."
