British motoring great Herbert Austin (image), has been inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame. As the founder of the Austin Motor Company, he created the Longbridge site in the West Midlands - home to MG Rover - and is best known for the Seven.

Car firm bosses Vincenzo Lancia and Ferdinand Porsche were also honour-ed this year, joining legends such as Enzo Ferrari and Mini designer Alec Issigonis. The news was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show - the Hall of Fame is based in the Swiss city.
