Toyota's Dynamic Duo

Two times 2.2-litre diesels - that's what Toyota unveiled for its Avensis at the Swiss event. The first is a 148bhp unit, mated to a six-speed manual box. It's due in June. The second is the revolutionary 175bhp Clean Power, which is lighter and offers up to 20 per cent lower fuel consumption than the smaller unit. It will appear in the UK version of the family car this time next year.
