Dawn Of Nubira For Fast Chevys

There aren't many estate cars that claim to develop more than 200bhp - but the Chevrolet Nubira Sprint is one of them. Based on the Lacetti Station Wagon, which has retained the Nubira name in Europe.

Its turbocharged 1.8-litre engine develops 215bhp and it gets a close-ratio six-speed manual box. Engineers say this delivers a more positive shift action than the standard unit.

The load-lugger was created by Swiss tuner Delta-Motor for the Geneva Motor Show. The firm normally specialises in add-on accessories and bespoke suspension for racing cars. Although there are no confirmed plans to put the estate into production, it was sanctioned by Chevrolet and displayed on the company's stand next to standard models.
