T-bird Leaves Nest

Production of the Thunderbird is being ended. Bosses have confirmed the last cars will leave the factory in July. The most recent incarnation of the famous name was launched four years ago, but sales have tailed off in recent months, and fewer than 12,000 models found homes during 2004. More than four million cars named Thunderbird have been sold since the first two-seater went on sale in 1954.
