New Signposts Bend The Rules

Give Way has a whole new meaning for road signs. Their support posts have been redesigned to bend and 'give way' if they are struck by a vehicle.

The fibreglass lattice columns shred on impact to absorb energy and protect passengers. What's more, they don't require traditional Armco barriers like concrete or steel poles. The Highways Agency also hopes to use the same poles for new lamp posts and traffic signals.
