Tax Cheats Feel Heat

The DVLA's continuous registration scheme has helped crack down on road tax dodgers, the Government has claimed. Last year, the number of cars listed on the agency's database rose by a million - up 3.4 per cent on 2003. Transport Secretary Alistair Darling said: "Vehicles that had fallen out of the system are now properly taxed and being driven legitimately. This makes the roads safer for us all."
