MG Rover Stalls

MG Rover's future is unclear. The company's talks with a Chinese partner have collapsed and receivers, apparently, called in late Thursday. The company had asked the Government for a partial financial bale-out, until deals could be concluded to secure the company's future. The Government wanted concrete deals before supporting any venture.

Longbridge in the West Midlands has a supply chain of companies for the factory and the area will be devasted if the company closes. Up to 6,000 staff are employed at Longbridge.
