RAV Clone To Bear Fruit in UK?

Although it looks like a Toyota, this SUV is not the next RAV4. Called the Tiggo, it's actually the work of Chinese firm Chery. However, with a side-hinged tailgate and rear-mounted spare wheel, the RAV4 was clearly an inspiration.

The off-roader was developed with the help of UK sports car maker Lotus to ensure the ride and handling are a match for rivals. The Tiggo will go on sale in its home country in July, but could lead the brand's arrival in Britain.

Powered by a 127bhp 2.4-litre Mitsubishi engine, the 4x4 comes with ABS, twin front airbags, an electrically adjustable driver's seat and six-disc CD changer as standard.
